Pecafil cuts time and cost at Artillery Drive Stromwater Tunnel

Max Frank Pecafil stay in place formwork was recently used for the 13m diameter ring foundation for access shaft 3 of the new Artillery Drive Stormwater Tunnel.

This tunnel is the first of a three-stage project which aims to reduce flood risk and will free up land for the special housing area in Takanini. It will also add capacity to the stormwater network downstream of the McLennan Park pond. The tunnel is 1.1km long, 2.5m in diameter largely constructed by trenchless means.

With the formwork finished in under four hours the main contractor, Brian Perry Civil were quickly able to progress to the next stage of the project saving them time and money.
